Good Foods for Our Brains

As we are getting older, it seems normal to easily forget something like forgetting where we put our car keys. In fact, no, it’s not normal at all.
We can grow old with a sharp memory. One thing we should do is just eating the right foods for our brain. Which foods? Well, here they are:

•Blueberry
Research at the USDA found out that regular consumptions of blueberries can slow the impairment of memory that usually accompanies old age. It’s polyphenols which do that job as that compounds enable neurons communicate with each other more effectively. No wonder, some researchers think that blueberries are the ultimate food for our brains.

•Strawberry
Similar to blueberries, a regular consumption of strawberries can protect our brains and preserve our memory.

•Spinach
Popeye is right by having spinach as his favourite food. This food helps to slow brain aging and, again, preserve memory because of the anti-inflammatory and antioxidant compounds in it. So, it’s time to make this food one of our favourite foods too, isn’t it?

•Fish
Do you like fish? They are delicious, aren’t they? Well, they are not only delicious, but also healthy especially for our brains. It’s omega-3 fats which is beneficial for our brains’ health. The healthy omega-3 fats in fish are incorporated into cell membranes. Because of this, the information from neurotransmitters can get in and out of the cell more easily. As a result, we’ll have better memory.

•Egg Yolk
Egg yolk is a rich source for choline, a B vitamin which is an important part of neurotransmitter acetylcholine. Meanwhile, neurotransmitter acetylcholine is vital for memory, learning and thinking. So, regular consumption of egg yolks will be good for us to have better memory, learning and thinking.

•Turmeric
Turmeric is good for our brains because of a compound in it called curcumin.

So, what are we waiting for? Let’s eat them!!..
